TEV-DEM celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution and called on the people to organize against the Turkish invasion threats and join the general mobilization.
The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) released a written statement mark the 10th anniversary of the 19 July Rojava Revolution. “First of all, we celebrate all the values of the 19 July Revolution on behalf of the Kurdish people and the peoples of North and East Syria, the families of the martyrs and the veterans, the military forces and all the fighters of the revolution,” the statement released on Monday said.
“The 19 July Revolution, launched by the will of our people in Kobanê, marked the beginning of the collapse of the oppressive and chauvinist systems built on the genocide of other cultures. The July 19 Revolution represents the third line of politics and promotes the values that ensure the construction of a democratic free society and the unity of the entire Syrian society,” the statement continued.
TEV-DEM went on, saying: “Furthermore, The 19 July Revolution relies on the moral values of the fraternity of the peoples and the democratic nation project. This principle furthered the united revolution of the peoples and ensured victory against the terrorist organization. The outstanding resistance against terrorism is the proof of the unity among cultural values, the values of the revolution and the free life. This resistance and the legacy of the martyrs of the 19 July Revolution continue to inspire democratic societies.
In the 10th year of the 19 July Revolution, it has been proven that the society realized a democratic change with its limited opportunities and helped improving the role of women and the youth.
This resistance provided us with the opportunity to protect our values and will, attacked by dark forces, notably by ISIS, under the most difficult conditions. Moreover, it gave the opportunity to resist against the invading Turkish state's plans for genocide, massacre and destruction.
We celebrate the achievements of the 19 July Revolution, and we call on our people to embrace their moral values, organize and participate in the general mobilization.
We also call for support amidst the State of Emergency declared by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria against the attacks of the Turkish state. Unite, and the expansion of resistance and struggle will guarantee the victory of our free will.”
