TEV-DEM said efforts should focus on the search for a solution to Syrian crisis.
Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM) Diplomatic Relations Centre Spokesperson, Kemal Akif, made a statement condemning the attack carried out by ISIS in Suwayda.
At the weekly press conference held at the TEV-DEM Center for Diplomatic Relations in Qamishlo, Akif said: “The crimes carried out by the Turkish State in Afrin are continuing. Kidnappings are going on and ransoms are being sought from families of the kidnapped. When these are not paid, the kidnapped are slaughtered. In Afrin, we see what the ISIS terror is. Teenagers and disabled civilians have been kidnapped and found tortured, body parts are being found in the region. Rape and violence against women are also carried out on a daily basis."
While the attacks against Afrin continue, Akif also underlined that after the statements and threats by Turkish President Erdogan, the Turkish state has begun attacking and undermining peace in the region, by attacking the border city of Serekaniye.
“International forces must act against these threats by the Turkish state and the mercenaries immediately”, said Akif.
The TEV-DEM statement also condemned the ISIS attack on Suwayda, on Wednesday.
"We strongly condemn the attack on the Suwayda - said the statement. - This attack has the same purpose of the attacks against Afrin, as it is an attack on peoples fighting terrorism. We express our condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in the attack”.
This attack, said the statement, “shows that the Syrian crisis must be resolved as soon as possible and action should be urgently been taken to stop bloodshed. All efforts should focus on searching a solution to build a democratic Syria in which violence and discrimination have no place”.
