"Those who attacked Serêkaniyê were ISIS gangs"

SDF fighter Devrim Dersim speaks about the Turkish invasion of Serêkaniyê and says: "The majority of the jihadists were people from Tunisia, Egypt, Afghanistan and Pakistan."

Ahmed Albdulxenî Musa (Devrim Dersim) has been fighting in the People's Defense Units (YPG) since 2012. He is the father of three children. Three of her brothers are in the YPG, one of his sisters in the Women's Defense Units (YPJ), and his mother is active in the women's movement Kongreya Star.

Dersim participated in offensives against the ISIS, al-Nusra and other groups supported by Turkey in Hesekê, Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain), Til Temir, Kobanê, Til Kocher, Hol, Shaddadi, Til Hemîs, Til Berak, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and Jazaa. Most recently, he fought in Serêkaniyê against the invasion of the Turkish army and its SNA jihadists, which began on October 9.

"SDF did not let them advance”

Devrim was injured on both legs and an arm during the resistance in the industrial area near Serêkaniyê. He tells how the Turkish army used all means and also used prohibited weapons to break the resistance: "After the fighter jets bombed everywhere, the gangs tried to advance. In spite of everything, the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) held their positions and prevented their advance.”

"The gangs were not from Syria"

"I have gained my experience with the methods of the gangs during the fight against the ISIS," explains Devrim and continues; "The tactics of the militias deployed by Turkey were the same as those of the ISIS. Their appearance was also very similar. They had long hair and beards and shouted the jihadist 'Takbir' like the ISIS during their attacks. It was clear from their language that they were not from Syria; they came from Tunisia, Egypt, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"Erdoğan and the Turkish state must be convicted"

"We are not terrorists. We defend our people, our country and our values," Dersim said, demanding that Turkey and Erdoğan be brought to justice for their war crimes.
