Kurds protest worldwide against the international plot that targeted Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan 23 years ago.
Thousands of people from Afrin and Shehba took to the streets in Fafin district on Tuesday to protest against the international conspiracy that resulted in the abduction of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan from Kenya to Turkey on 15 February 1999.
“Long live Leader Öcalan’s resistance” and “No to international conspiracy” chanted the masses as they staged a march throughout the district.
Speaking at the rally that followed, Afrin Council Member İsmail Xabûr stated that the resistance of Öcalan and the unity of peoples frustrated conspiracies.
Remarking that the key to all the problems in the Middle East is to be found on Imrali, Xabûr said that the world needs to see this truth and go to Imrali if they want a solution to the existing problems.
Speaking after, Kongra Star Coordination member Elif Şêx Mihemed called on the international community and all the peace-loving people to raise their voices against the conspiracy.
Defining Turkey’s crimes against the Kurdish people as a part of the international conspiracy, Mihemed called for increased struggle to achieve Öcalan’s physical freedom.
Shehba Canton Council Co-president Werde Şêxo stated, “We will tear down the Imrali system and live freely with Leader Öcalan.”
Werde Şêxo pointed out that women got to know themselves thanks to Öcalan’s philosophy, because Öcalan placed women at the center of society and revolution.
