Defying heavy Turkish bombardment, thousands marched in Afrin’s Jindires district to show support for the resistance against invasion on Sunday.
The march started at Kane Kurke village and continued until Jindires district center. Holding posters of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and a huge banner that read “Victory will be of the resistance of the age” the crowd chanted slogans that condemned the invading Turkish state.
The co-chair of Afrin’s Executive Council Osman Sheikh Isa and member of Legislative Council Mushira Mela Reshid spoke to the crowd and vowed to continue the resistance until the end.
Turkish army continued to bomb the district center during the protest but the crowd continued their march.
The demonstration ended with “Long live the resistance of Jindires” and “Long live YPG/YPJ” slogans.
The resistance in Jindires continues under heavy Turkish bombardment since the start of Turkish invasion on January 20. Heavy clashes between SDF and Turkish army have been reported in nearby villages in the past week.
