Thousands from Dirbesiye, Serêkaniyê and Zirgan regions of Hesekê Canton in Rojava’s Cizire Region joined a march in Til Temir to demand freedom for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The march kicked off from Til Temir Assembly of Martyrs’ Families and continued until Martyr Blind Stadium, with demonstrators carrying pictures of Öcalan and banners condemning the aggravated isolation imposed on him by the Turkish state.
TEV-DEM Til Temir Assembly Co-chair Mihemed Seyid Şêxmus, one of the speakers who addressed the crowd in front of the stadium, said that; “We bow respectfully before this mass who are an indication of the people’s support to the philosophy of Leader Apo. The oppressed peoples triumph thanks to this freedom philosophy.”
Şêxmus remarked that people taking to the streets for Öcalan is the best response to the plans developed against the Kurdish people in the person of the Kurdish leader.
The demonstration ended with the slogan “Biji Serok Apo” (Long Live Leader Öcalan).
