According to reports from the northern Syrian news agency ANHA, members of the jihadist militia Jabhat al-Shamiya abducted three people from the village of Ayn al-Arus near Girê Spî (Tal Abyad). The three abductees belong to a family and were taken to the military police center in Girê Spî.
Jabhat al-Shamiya belongs to the Turkish mercenary alliance "Syrian National Army" (SNA) and is known for kidnappings and ransoms. Since the invasion of self-ruled areas that began with the 2018 incursion into Afrin, 7,457 people have been kidnapped by the mercenary forces in Afrin alone. The fate of more than 3,500 of them remains unknown.
