Three-day balance of the war in Northern Syria

The SDF published a review of the war in Northern Syria for the past three days. In it, the SDF also reported on the activities of sleeper cells of the terrorist militia "Islamic State" (ISIS) in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.

The Press Centre of the Syrian’ Democratic Forces (SDF) has published a balance sheet for the past three days of the military developments in Northern and Eastern Syria.

According to the statement, the occupation attacks by the Turkish army and its jihadist auxiliary troops, which started on 9 October, continue. Numerous settlement areas in the border region have been attacked. In addition, two SDF fighters have been martyred in Ain Issa while defending themselves against the invading forces.

Ain Issa

The villages of Xalidiye and Hoşan have been bombarded with howitzers by proxies of the Turkish state. The villages of Kopirik, Erîda, Qizalî, Fatisa, Bîr Îsa as well as residential areas in the vicinity of the Bîr Timih wheat silo and positions of Syrian government troops were also attacked. This resulted in considerable material damage. These large-scale bombings, coordinated by reconnaissance drones, led to the flight of numerous people. The government troops responded immediately to the attacks and the aggressors suffered casualties.

Serêkaniyê

The village of Mişrefa in Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) has been bombarded with heavy weapons. This attack also led to massive damage in civilian settlement areas.

Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor

On 28 December, ISIS sleeper cells in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor carried out attacks on SDF bases. At least two mercenaries were killed and three others injured in the resulting fighting.

SDF stated that two of their fighters fell as martyrs as a result of bombardments on Ain Issa.

On the other hand, at least 5 mercenaries were killed in the retaliation of the Syrian military forces against the attacks.
