The Democratic Autonomous Administration of Rojava has declared three-day mourning over the passing of Kurdish political leader Jalal Talabani.
The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons Democratic Autonomous Administration released a statement over the passing of former president of Iraq, prominent Kurdish politician Jalal Talabani, Mam (Uncle) Jalal of the Kurds.
The statement stressed that Mam Jalal’s life in mainly Bashure (Southern) Kurdistan and Iraq was dedicated to freedom for the people of Kurdistan and democracy, saying;
“As the General Coordination of Rojava Cantons Democratic Autonomous Administration, we offer our condolences to Talabani’s wife Hero Xan, his sons, all Talabani family, his comrades from PUK, all the people of Kurdistan and Iraq as well as the peoples of Rojava.
Mam Jalal achieved great successes in the Kurdish cause, and played an active role, especially in the most fragile and historic process when the Middle East and Kurdistan territory is undergoing radical changes.
We once again offer our condolences to Mam Jalal’s family and the people of Kurdistan, and declare three-day mourning over his passing.”
