Hundreds of people in Kobanê attended the funeral of the 3 fighters who fell as martyrs when they drowned in the Euphrates River on Saturday.
Mihemed Ibrahim (Alan Kobanê), Ebdullah Miho (Öcalan) and Diyar Hemê (Çavreş), fell as martyrs when they drowned in the Euphrates River while they were receiving military training on Saturday. They were buried on Sunday with a ceremony at the Martyr Dicle Cemetery.
Euphrates Region Martyrs' Families Council, civil society organizations and many people attended the funeral.
Speaking at the ceremony that started with a minute’s silence, Youth and Sports Committee co-chair Xunaf Mihemed said: "Our fighters, who are trained to build the future of the youth, have fallen as martyrs. We will continue to fight to make their goals come true."
PYD Şêran Assembly co-chair, Letife Mehmud, expressed her condolences to the families of the martyrs and said: "Today, we are guests of the martyrs of freedom. Therefore, our heads should stand upright. The tears of mothers are our tears.
After the speeches, the martyrs' certificates of martyrdom were read and given to their families."
