Tribes in North-East Syria vow to confront Turkish genocidal campaign

Tribal leaders in North and East Syria raised concern over Turkish plans against the region, saying that Turkey could be defeated by a revolutionary people's war.

The invading Turkish state is continuing to escalate its attacks against North and East Syria. Most recently, on July 28, a vehicle of the Internal Security Forces was targeted in Ain Issa, leading to the death of 4 security officers.

The Turkish state attacked 31 villages in the Hesekê Canton in recent days. 458 rockets hit citizens' houses, service centres and a Russian base, leaving one citizen dead. 9 people, including two kids, were injured. Moreover, a soldier of the Damascus government forces lost his life, while 3 fighters of the Assyrian Khabur Guards were injured.

Speaking to ANHA, the leaders of the Arab tribes in the city of Hesekê emphasized the importance of fighting alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against these attacks.

Ewad El-Uqle, a leader of the Al-Bu Muslim Al-Abid tribe from the Begara tribe, said that the invading Turkish state was against the Syrian people and targeted Syrian lands to prolong the conflict.

El-Uqle stated that the Turkish state pursued inhumane policies against the people of North and East Syria, adding that Turkey persistently threatened and targeted citizens.

Remarking that Turkey has escalated its attacks recently, he added, “Turkey wants to change the demographic structure by expanding its occupation in Syria. Furthermore, it tries to shatter the unity of the Syrian people.”

‘ALL GROUPS ARE TARGETED’

Menaf Reca, a leader of the Fadıl tribe in the Shaddadi district, south of the Hesekê Canton, emphasized that the invading Turkish state is trying to expand its deadly campaign and committing genocide against the people of the region.

“This terrorist project targets everyone without discrimination. We, the tribes of the south region, unite around our military forces that consist of all peoples. The target of the Turkish state is the entire people of the region,” Menaf Reca said.

He also stressed that it was necessary to work with the SDF to ensure stability in North and East Syria, emphasising the importance of resistance against the attacks of the Turkish army.

Mihemed Ubed, one of the leaders of the Sherabin tribe, called on all tribes and groups in North and East Syria to put aside their personal interests and to work for the national cause and to halt the invading Turkish state's attacks on the region. “We stand by the SDF under any circumstances, with our elders, young people and children,” he said.
