“Turkey commits a war crime in North-East Syria”

The attendees denounced an ethnic cleansing in the Turkish-occupied areas in North-East Syria.

Syrian Future Party organised a panel discussion titled “Forced Displacement” in the Qamishlo city on Monday. The panel, attended by representatives of Kurdish, Arab, Syriac and Yazidi parties as well as intellectuals and representatives of faith groups, was moderated by Salih El- Zobeî, President of the Syrian Future Party Cizire Region Organization Bureau.

Highlighting the forced displacement of peoples of North and East Syria, Salih El-Zobeî said the following; “According to the International Criminal Court, the act of forced displacement of a folk from their homeland constitutes a war crime. International human rights laws define forced displacement, mass murders and crimes against humanity as war crimes. The Turkish state’s acts against the peoples and faith groups in Afrin, Jarablus, al-Bab and Aleppo amount to a war crime.”

El-Zobeî’s speech was followed by evaluations on the Turkish state’s occupation attacks against the region and efforts to change the demography.

The attendees pointed to the Turkish forces’ acts against local population and denounced an ethnic cleansing in the Turkish-occupied areas like Afrin and Jarablus.
