The occupying Turkish army has recently escalated tensions between Manbij Military Council Forces and Turkey-backed mercenaries on the ground, leading to civilians being injured and their homes being damaged.
In the meantime, the international community and human rights organizations remain silent towards the Turkish attacks on Syrian territory.
Co-Chair of the Manbij Executive Council, Xêr Şêxo, spoke to ANHA about the attacks carried out by the Turkish army on SDF-held regions and the occupied territories. “These attacks target civilian settlements between the Shehba Canton and the Til Temir district in the Cizre region,” he said.
'INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY REMAINS SILENT'
Recalling the appeals of the international community for the attacks to be stopped, Xêr Şêxo noted that the Turkish state kept ignoring the calls and made its attacks ordinary.
Şêxo remarked that the power and determination of the people in the border regions show the Turkish state that they are the true owners of this land and that their only concern is to live in peace and security.
While the Turkish army bombed battlefronts last week, destroying local people’s houses and injuring civilians, among them women and children, the international community still remains silent toward Turkish aggression, he noted.
Xêr Şêxo urged all pro-peace states and human rights organizations to find a solution and to stop the crimes against civilians in North and East Syria.
'ATTACKS BRING DAMAGE TO AGRICULTURE AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY'
Xêr Şêxo stated that the Manbij Civil Administration condemns the attacks, adding, “Attacks on our people in these regions are unjust. Moreover, the crimes of the Turkish state are not restricted to these attacks. Turkey has significantly reduced the water flow of the Euphrates, thus bringing damage to services, agriculture and animal husbandry.”
Xêr Şêxo addressed the people of the region: “As the civil administration of Manbij, we draw our strength from your resolution and will. You should resist because you are the true owners of these lands.”
