The occupying Turkish state reduces the amount of water flowing into Northern and Eastern Syria through the Euphrates River every day. The extent of the danger is once again clearly seen in the image taken by air of the Euphrates River, west of Kobanê.
The danger is so great that the villages of Sehil and Qumlix, which were submerged after the Turkish state released the water of the Euphrates River in the 1990s, came to light again.
According to the agreement signed by the invading Turkish state in 1987, Ankara has to release 500 cubic meters of water to Syria per second. However, the Turkish state has been dropping the supply to less than 200 cubic meters of water per second since 27 April.
The Turkish state is putting the lives of millions of Syrians at risk by reducing the flow of water.
Agricultural fields and power stations are also badly affected by this man-driven drought. The Autonomous Administration stated on 3 March that the lives of 9 million people are in danger and appealed to the international community to speak out and demand the Turkish state to stop these crimes.
