Turkey’s mercenaries attack Manbij again

Armed mercenary groups affiliated to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s regime have attacked the positions of Manbij Military Council.

Manbij Military Council (MMC) reported that mercenaries linked to the occupant Turkish state opened fire with heavy weaponry on the positions of MMC fighters by Sajur River.

According to the MMC statement, the attack was launched from the village of Ereb Hesen to the west of Manbij, and lasted 15 minutes.

The Turkish-backed mercenaries had attacked the MMC positions in the same region on December 20th.

The attacks came after Turkish President Erdoğan’s threats to occupy Northern Syria and US President’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria.
