‘Turkey should be prosecuted for murdering children’

Hesekê Children Protection Bureau Co-Chair Xalid Cibir said that the Turkish state is committing massacres against children and should be prosecuted in accordance with international law.
The invading Turkish state has been carrying out massacres against children since it has occupied Syrian lands. It carried out a huge massacre against children in Tell Rifat in 2019. Most recently, four members of a family were killed in a massacre in the village of Sefawiyê.
“The Turkish state committed huge massacres against children from Tell Rifat to Ain Issa. These have all been documented. The murder of children and the elderly is considered a war crime within international law. Although the international community is aware of what is going on, they are ignoring it for their own interests,” Cibir said.
“War criminals who murder children should be tried before international courts. International law organizations should take responsibility,” Cibir concluded.
