Turkish attacks on Til Temir and Zirgan continue

At least 4 civilians were killed and 17 others were injured in the ongoing attacks of the Turkish forces against the civilian settlements in Zirgan and Til Temir in the Hesekê canton, north-eastern Syria.

On Tuesday night, the Turkish army and its mercenaries launched massive attacks on the town of Zirgan. On Wednesday (Dec. 22), the Turkish forces attempted to capture the military points of the Syriac Military Council in the north of Til Temir.

The Turkish army carried out its attacks from its bases in the villages of Dawûdiye, Iniq El-Hewa and Bab El-Xêr which it has occupied in the region of Zirgan. On Wednesday evening, the area was further shelled by the Turkish occupation forces.

On the second day of the Turkish bombings, the west, north and south parts of Zirgan and its villages Esediye, Xirbet Şeîr, Dada Ebdal, Til El-Werd, Til Hermele, Rebîat and Til Şeîr were targeted. At least 180 mortars and missiles have been fired into the area in the last two days. Material damage has been reported in the targeted villages.

The Turkish attacks have left 4 civilians dead, and 14 others injured, including a member of the Internal Security Forces.

On Tuesday, at around 17:30, the villages of Til Şenan, Til Cuma, Um El-Kêf, Til Krabît and Tawîle in the west and east of Til Temir were shelled, injuring three soldiers of the Damascus government and damaging civilian houses.

The Turkish forces also sought to occupy the Um El-Kêf village in Til Temir on Wednesday. The forces of Til Temir Military Council and Syriac Military Council responded to the attacks. Two Turkish-backed mercenaries were killed, and another injured during the clashes.
