Turkish-backed gangs kidnap 4 civilians in occupied Afrin

The gangs backed by the invading Turkish state reportedly kidnapped 4 civilians from a village in Sherawa district of Afrin.

According to the information obtained from local sources, gangs backed by the Turkish state kidnapped 4 civilians from the village of Fafitrine in Sherawa district of Afrin.

The kidnapped citizens Xelîl Şewtî, Husên Xelîl Şewtî, Casim Mihemed Qasmo and Omer Diyab Diyab are unaccounted for.

The Turkish state built a regime of terror in the regions it occupied in North-East Syria, especially in Afrin which has been under Turkish invasion since March 2018. In Afrin, which was turned into a scene of systematic war crimes, kidnapping, execution, torture, looting and forced displacement became daily routines.

According to human rights defenders, the Turkish state killed at least 700 civilians in the last 4 years and kidnapped nearly 8,500 people in Afrin. Almost half of the kidnapped civilians are still unaccounted for.
