Fighting erupted between mercenary groups from the so-called “Syrian National Army” in Turkish-occupied cities of Afrin and Serêkaniyê in northern Syria.
In Mahmudiya neighborhood of Afrin, which has been occupied by Turkey for over two years, clashes broke out between the Jabhat al-Shamiya and Sultan Murad gangs late Monday evening. The fighting came to an end with the intervention of the mercenary group Ahrar al-Sharqiya.
Again on Monday, fighting erupted between the Katiba Mutasim group and “military police” in Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) city center in the morning. According to reports, clashes broke out after the arrest of some members of the Mutasim Battalion by the so-called “military police” mercenaries.
Another clash erupted between Ahrar al-Sharqiya and Hamzat groups in Muhatta and Xiraba neighborhoods of Serêkaniyê at 23:00 local time Monday night. Mortars and heavy weapons were used in the confrontation.
