Turkish-linked mercenaries kidnap 5 civilians in Afrin

The Turkish state-linked forces kidnapped 5 civilians in a village in the district of Sherawa in Afrin.

According to the information received, Turkish-linked forces raided the village of Xezawiyê. The Feyleq al-Sham mercenaries affiliated with the Turkish state kidnapped 5 people. It was learned that two of the abducted were Yazidis.

It is not known where Zerdeşt Ebdulezîz Birîmo (33), Xelîl Ehmed Birîmo (35), Rênas Behrî Kêfo, Betal Mihemed Nor Kêfo and Silêman Zekî Mistefa have been taken.

It was reported that a ransom of 1500 Turkish liras was demanded in exchange for the release of the five people.

The Turkish state and its mercenaries have created a regime of terror in all the regions it has occupied, especially in Afrin, which has been occupied since March 2018. Crimes such as kidnapping, execution, torture, looting, forced abduction have become daily occurrences in the city, which has systematically turned into a war crimes site.

According to human rights defenders, the Turkish state killed 686 civilians and kidnapped 8,455 civilians in Afrin in 4 years. The fate of nearly half of the abducted remains unknown.
