As Turkish President Erdogan signals an imminent aggression against Afrin for days now, it was said at the Turkish National Security Council meeting that “threats will be eliminated”.
Turkish National Security Council assembled a meeting amid Turkey’s increased threats of an aggression against Afrin Canton of Northern Syria.
An official statement about the meeting stated that Turkey will oppose the establishment of a security corridor in Rojava.
According to the statement, Turkish officials agreed that “necessary steps will be taken immediately and with strict commitment in order for the elimination of threats targeting Turkey from western Syria”.
The statement also argued that the U.S. should take back the arms it has provided for the military structures in Northern Syria to fight against ISIS.
