The invading Turkish army is preventing farmers in Efrîn from harvesting their crops. The farmers called upon the international community to make the attacks of the Turkish state stop.

The invading Turkish army continues its attacks on civilians in Rojava and Northern Syria along the border. Invading the locals' fields, Turkish army continues to build a wall and reinforce troops on the border with Efrîn Canton.

Efrin’s Bilbilê district, particularly the area along the border, is rich in olives and various agricultural products. Turkish forces have occupied an area of 95 hectares in the villages of Kurdo, Zerî, Tobel, Baliya and Alî Karo along the border and prevent farmers from harvesting their crops.

45 percent of the crops in this area has been damaged as Turkish soldiers open fire on farmers and thus prevent them from harvesting their crops. This situation also has a negative impact upon the canton’s economy.

Farmer Receb Reşîd Hesen, whose fields are mostly located on the border with Turkey, spoke on the issue and said “Occupant Turkish soldiers open fire on my field even though it is 300 meters away from the border and prevent me from harvesting.”

Hesen stated that Turkish soldiers have also stopped the flow of water into his field, and called upon human rights organizations to stand against the fascist Turkish state’s attacks on the people of Rojava.

Another farmer Ednan Şêx Mihemed stated that they cannot go to their fields despite the arrival of harvest season, and said “Farmers cannot harvest their crops because of the fire opened by occupant Turkish soldiers.”

Farmer Nedîm Mihemed living in Baliya village stated that he tried to go to his field recently but Turkish soldiers shot fires at him and wounded him in a foot.
