According to the information received, the military police, the paramilitary crime apparatus created by the Turkish state in occupied Afrin, and the Al Nuxbe mercenary group kidnapped two civilians, Ehmed Hanan Reşo (55) and Manan Seîd Şêx Seydî (32) in the village of Şêxutkê in Mabata.
It was learned that the abducted people were first taken to the prison in Mabata and then to a prison in the center of Afrin, and a ransom of 1,500 Turkish liras was demanded in exchange for their release.
Thousands of people have been abducted since 2018
The Turkish state has created a regime of terror and mercenaries in all the regions it has occupied, especially in Afrin, which has been occupied since March 2018. Crimes such as kidnapping, execution, torture, looting, forced abduction have become daily in the city, which has systematically turned into a war crimes site.
According to human rights defenders, as of the end of 2021, the Turkish state has killed more than 700 civilians in Afrin in 4 years and kidnapped at least 8,500 civilians. The fate of nearly half of the abducted remains unknown. It has been stated that at least 70 women were raped in the same period, and since 2018, more than 300 thousand people from Afrin have been forcibly displaced from their homes and lands.
