Two civilians abducted in a village of Til Temir

Turkish forces and jihadist allies continue committing crimes against humanity in the occupied territories of North-East Syria.

According to local sources, the occupant Turkish state forces have attempted to loot the goods of the people in the Dibse village of Til Temir (Tal Tamr), located on the M4 international highway.

The objection of the residents resulted in the abduction of two villagers whose aftermath is unknown.

Since the Turkish invasion, war crimes have been systematically committed in the region. Almost every day, crimes such as the confiscation of property belonging to local people, kidnapping of civilians for ransom, torture or executions are carried out.

The occupation forces controlled by Ankara use the abductions to extort ransoms. This method has become a lucrative source of income. At least 500 cases of ransom handovers have been reported so far. Turkish-backed militias demand an equivalent of between 3,000 and 100,000 euros, depending on the ability of the victims' relatives to pay. Robbery, kidnappings and ransom have been the order of the day.

On 16 August, three Kurdish civilians were kidnapped by Turkish secret service MIT from the village of Termisha in the Shiye district.

On 17 August, Turkish-backed Jaish al-Nukhba militiamen kidnapped three local Kurds from the village of Shekhoitka, in Mabata district, on false charges of " working with the former Autonomous Administration. The abductees were taken to the militia's headquarters in Amara village, the organisation said.

Afrin Human Rights Organisation stressed that: “The abduction of Kurdish citizens is carried out by the pro-Turkey armed factions and the so-called "military police" under the direct commands and supervision of Turkish intelligence officers. The abductees are usually falsely charged with dealing or belonging to the former Autonomous Administration in order to either forcibly displace them or blackmail them into paying huge ransoms.”
