Two fighters of the People's Defense Units (YPG) have succumbed to serious illnesses in Hesekê. According to the YPG Press Office, Şiyar Hesekê died on September 25 and Cemal Şikaki on September 27.
Şiyar Hesekê was born in Hesekê in 1976 and joined the YPG in 2012 as part of the Rojava Revolution. Cemal Şikaki was born in Dirbêsiyê in 1983 and has participated in revolutionary work since 2011. The YPG stated that both fighters have made great efforts and fulfilled the tasks assigned to them with a high sense of responsibility. "We remember Martyr Şiyar and Martyr Cemal and all the brave martyrs with great respect and express our condolences to their families and our people," the YPG said.
