The delegation made up of high-ranking US officials and led by James Jeffrey has arrived in Syria to inspect the latest situation.
There are discussions on security, as well as how the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) will be included in the meetings for the new Syrian constitution and the Geneva talks, in the meetings in the region.
“CONTINUED SUPPORT”
The reporting source has attended meetings in Manbij, Ayn Isa and Raqqa as well and relayed that the delegation has given a message that they will continue to offer moral and logistical support for the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration, regional assemblies and the MSD.
The source said the US delegation stated that they will continue to support their military and political partners and stressed that Jeffrey said they will continue to work to have the Autonomous Administration and the MSD included in the Geneva talks and the efforts for a new constitution.
THE MESSAGES JEFFREY GAVE
The source said in the meeting, the delegation stressed that the international coalition will defend the region against attacks and that the delegation is monitoring the institutions formed in Northern and Eastern Syria closely. The delegation said, “As SDF has been our partner in the military arena, now we are taking political steps.”
The source added that Jeffre gave a clear message on the Northern Syrian administration’s participation in the efforts for a new constitution and the implementation of a political solution.
Jeffrey also said they will remain in the region until the Syrian crisis is resolved, and that they won’t allow any other power’s intervention in the region, starting with the areas liberated by the international coalition and the SDF.
