Villages in Til Temir without electricity due to bombardments

In Til Temir, the electricity supply to several villages has collapsed due to artillery attacks by the Turkish army and allied jihadist militias.

In several settlements in the Til Temir area, the power supply has collapsed under artillery fire from the occupation forces. The bombardments of the Turkish army and Islamist proxy troops of the NATO partner are currently concentrated on the village of Umm al-Kayf, which lies about eight kilometres west of the centre of the north-eastern Syrian town, and on Dardara. The village is located about four kilometres north of Til Temir on the side of the 716 highway that connects Serêkaniyê with Hesekê.

It is still unclear whether people have been harmed by the attacks. Til Temir is one of the towns in the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria that is under constant attack. Turkey has been trying for some time to integrate the Christian-populated town in the Khabur Valley into its illegal occupation zone.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), together with its member associations, including the Syriac Military Council (MFS) and the YPG-International, are resisting the Turkish-jihadist aggression. Within a week, five of their fighters have died defending Til Temir.
