‘We are preparing to liberate the Turkish-occupied territories’

SDF commander Hisên Koçer said in a meeting with opinion leaders that they were preparing to liberate the territories occupied by the Turkish state.

Opinion leaders in the Euphrates region of North-East Syria gathered at the Cultural Center in the town of Sirrin in Kobanê to discuss the Turkish invasions and new threats of invasion.

Hisên Koçer, a commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), also attended the meeting and addressed the crowd. He put emphasis on the importance of “people’s unity and organization based on the defense of their existence in wartime.”

“We rule ourselves. We will not submit to those who seek to occupy our region. And we will not remain silent on any form of attack,” the SDF commander said.

Pointing to the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, Koçer stated that Öcalan was subjected to isolation and denied his most legitimate rights because the sovereign powers fear his influence on the people who improve themselves in line with his ideas. “It is time to stand against the fascist system,” he underlined.

The SDF commander highlighted the attempts of siege coming from various circles, adding,” The Damascus government also confronted the will of the region’s people, and insisted on power, which tore down Syria. In this sense, everyone should be ready to preserve the culture of the region.”

Hisên Koçer concluded, “We are currently preparing to liberate our regions that have been occupied by Erdoğan.”
