Youth march for Öcalan from Qamishlo to Dêrik

With a long march from Qamishlo to Dêrik under the slogan "It is time for the freedom of Abdullah Ocalan" the youth movement of north and east Syria takes part in the KCK campaign against isolation, fascism and occupation.

The revolutionary youth movement of Northern and Eastern Syria participates with a "long march" in the campaign "Stop isolation, fascism and occupation - time for freedom". The demonstration started on Friday in Qamishlo, the goal is the city of Dêrik, about 100 kilometers further west. Around 300 activists from all religious and ethnic communities in the northeast Syrian autonomous region are taking part in the three-day action. The intermediate stations are Tirbespiyê, Çilaxa and Girkê Legê.

The campaign launched by the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), which is a worldwide protest against the Turkish regime, was launched on September 12, the 40th anniversary of the military coup in Turkey. It is directed against the isolation of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan on the Turkish prison island Imrali and Turkey's attacks on Kurdistan and northeast Syria. The campaign is gaining recognition worldwide, and a variety of actions are taking place every day around the globe.
