Rojava Youth’s Union (YCR) Shera district organisation staged a march to demand freedom for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan as part of the Serî Hilde (Rise Up) campaign. Hundreds from Shera and Meydanke districts joined the march.

Demonstrators carried images of Öcalan and banners of YCR, YJC (Young Women’s Union), Kongreya Star and TEV-DEM (Movement for a Democratic Society), chanting “Bijî Serok Apo” (Long live leader Öcalan).

The youth held a press statement in front of the Stadium, condemning the isolation on Öcalan and stressing that the isolation will not succeed and people’s struggle for Öcalan will continue.

Speaking here, Sileman Reşid from YCR Meydanke organisation said; “As youth of Rojava, we will respond to the isolation on Öcalan with resistance and serhildan (uprising). We will enhance our struggle against the invaders and follow the path of martyrs.”
