YPG Command Member Birusk Heseke spoke to ANHA about the Turkish state’s threats against Efrîn Canton. Birusk Heseke recalled that Efrîn remains under the siege of the invading Turkish army and affiliated gangs since the start of the Syrian crisis, and that the region is under daily attack with heavy weaponry and mortar fire.
Regarding the reports of media outlets in Turkey about Efrîn, Heseke said: “Spreading fabricated news through the press, the Turkish state seeks to blame our forces and legitimize their attacks on Efrîn region. However, everyone knows that the reason of the Turkish state’s existence in Syrian soil is to frustrate the Rojava revolution and the democratic federation project. The Turkish state and their gangs should know that if they happen to attack, Efrîn will be a graveyard for them.”
YPG Commander stressed that the Turkish state opposes the attendance of Northern Syria delegations in the meetings and talks held in search of a solution to the Syrian crisis because it does not want the conflict in Syria to deescalate.
“The conflict in Syrian lands will not deescalate unless the Turkish state, the leading country among those supporting the gangs, leaves Syria”, he said.
Birusk Heseke emphasised that they undertake the mission of defending people and will never allow outside forces to invade the region at any cost, adding: “Our people support us and our fighters possess seeds of the spirit of resistance. We will continue defending Efrîn and drive invading forces from the region. We will triumph because we are righteous.”
