The press office of the People's Defense Units (YPG) announced that their fighter Ferhad Efrîn (Hisên Îbiş) succumbed to a heart attack in Aleppo on December 16.

"Heval Ferhad has played an important role in our struggle since the beginning of the Rojava revolution until today," said the YPG and continued, "He stood against all forms of domination and reactionary mentality with great fury and never took a step back in the struggle. He fulfilled his duties in the ranks of our struggle with great determination and joined the caravan of the martyrs."
