An unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to Turkish invasion army was shot down by YPG forces while it was conducting surveillance within borders of Derik city of Jazira region during the first week of 2019.

YPG Press Office said the following in a written statement published on Thursday;

“Turkey, which continues planning invasion of Rojava Kurdistan and Northern Syria, has been continuously attempting to violate our borders. We once again reiterate that any military vehicle entering the areas under the control of our forces without permission and with hostile purposes will be destroyed within the framework of right to legitimate self-defense and that any violation of our borders will be retaliated by any means necessary according to rules of engagement.”
