YPG: Our comrade Baran Nisêbin fell a martyr following Turkish drone attack

The YPG announced that Baran Nisêbin, who took an active part in the fight against ISIS from Kobanê to Manbij, from Raqqa to Deir ez-Zor, fell a martyr as a result of the Turkish state's attack on Qamishlo.

The People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Center issued a statement regarding the attack carried out by the Turkish state with an armed drone (UAV) targeting a vehicle in Qamishlo. The statement said that Mihemed Sari (Baran Nisêbîn) was in the targeted vehicle and fell a martyr as a result of the attack.

The statement said: “On 14 April, an armed drone belonging to the invading Turkish state targeted a vehicle near the Nusaybin (Nisêbin) gate on the Hizam road in Qamishlo. As a result of the attack, our comrade Baran Nisêbîn fell as a martyr.”

The statement added: “Our comrade Baran was born to a patriotic family in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. Known for its resistance in our freedom struggle, the town of Nusaybin has always been an area of resistance. Our people in Nusaybin have a culture of resistance. At the beginning of the Rojava Revolution and in the most difficult and arduous times we were facing, our patriotic people from four parts of Kurdistan, including Nusaybin, came to Rojava with national spirit. Our comrade Baran is one of the brave men who answered the call for mobilization in the Kobanê resistance.”

The statement continued: “Comrade Baran took an active part in the war against ISIS from Kobanê to Manbij, from Raqqa to Deir ez-Zor. He has done an incredible job in liberating our cities under ISIS occupation. Comrade Baran was a member of the Asayiş (Internal Security), SDF and YPG.

First of all, we would like to express our condolences to the beloved family of our martyr, to our people of Mardin and to all our patriotic people.”
