An unfortunate clash broke out between the Asayish and the regime forces in the city of Qamishlo last week.
People’s Defense Units (YPG) Spokesperson Nuri Mahmud released a statement about the clash that erupted in Qamishlo on September 8th.
The statement said the following;
“On September 8th, an unfortunate clash broke out between the Asayish and the regime forces in the city of Qamishlo, leading to a number of dead and injured on both sides. Also, it created an atmosphere of tension and stress in the city of Qamishlo.
As the General Command of the People's Protection Units, we extend condolences to the families of the victims and express our deep sorrow over what happened. At the same time, we confirm that as YPG, we also have opened an investigation concerning the incident. The results of the investigation will be revealed as soon as it is completed. We call on both sides to calm down and take the general interest as a starting point in the search for solutions.
Once again, we express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and our wishes for the fast recovery of the wounded.”
