YPG: The Turkish state and allied gangs continue to attack Rojava

YPG Press Office issued a written statement on the attacks on Rojava and said: “The invading Turkish army and the gangs under their command continue their attacks and violations on Rojava soil.”
The attacks have targeted regions in all three cantons in Rojava, Kobanê, Cizîr and Efrîn. YPG Press Office stated that the attacks were carried out with heavy weapons and mostly targeted villages.
The statement included the following information on the details of the attacks between May 5 and 9.
“On May 5, 2017, at 16:00, an UAV of the Turkish army flew over the area between Amûdê and Dirbesiyê. The drone was shot in the intervention by our forces and was downed over an area at the border.
On May 6, 2017, the Turkish army’s activity along Kobanê’s eastern borderline increased. Turkish soldiers positioned armored vehicles on the border and later randomly opened fire on the Koran village. Other scout planes of the Turkish army flew to the west of Kobanê’s border.
On the same day, gangs allied with the Turkish army attacked Maranez, Vîla Qadi, Belûnê and Ayn Daqnê villages and our forces’ positions in Dikmetaş village with Howitzers and DShKs.
Also on the same day, gangs allied with the Turkish army conducted 2 separate attacks on the Efrîn Canton. The gangs attacked Basufanê village in the Sherawa district with mortars and T-155 Howitzers.
On May 8, 2017, gangs allied with the Turkish army attacked Celemê and Til Silorê villages in the Cindirês district of the Efrîn Canton with mortars.
On May 9, 2017 in the afternoon, gangs allied with the Turkish army to the north of Idlib attacked the Basufanê village in the Sherawa district with mortars. The gangs simultaneously attacked the Celemê village in the Cindirês district.
On the same night, Turkish army UAVs flew over Maranez, Ayn Deqnê and Qestel regions. Following the scout mission, gangs allied with the Turkish army attacked the Maranez village with tanks and Howitzers. Simultaneously, gangs attacked the Basufanê village in the Sherawa district with heavy weapons.
On the same night, 2 gang members who attempted to plant landmines in Dêr Balut village in Cindirês district were killed in an intervention by our forces.”
