YPG Press Center’s statement says the invading Turkish army and the gangs acting under Turkish army command continue their attacks and violations on Rojava territory and includes the following:
“The Turkish army’s and their gangs’ attacks and violations in the last 5 days are as follows:
On 14.05.2017 at 00.00, there was jet fighter and UAV activity over Tribesipîyê.
On 16.05.2017, gangs allied with the Turkish army attacked Dewa Village in Cindires with mortars. The villagers’ homes and fields suffered damage as a result.
On 17.05.2017 at 11.00, in Dehma village in Serêkaniyê, villagers going to their fields were attacked by the invading Turkish soldiers. In the attack, 28 year old Ednan El-Hesen from Dehma village lost his life. The same day at 17.00, between Til Xenzir and Rawiya villages in Serêkaniyê and Gire Spî, the Turkish army opened fire on Rojava territory with heavy weapons and our forces retaliated immediately. As a result, 2 Turkish soldiers were killed. The same day at 18.30 Turkish army jet fighters flew over Serêkaniyê.
On 18.05.2017, gangs acting under Turkish army command opened fire on our positions in Basufan and Dewa villages and our forces retaliated. There is no concrete information on the number of killed and wounded Turkish soldiers. The same night at 02.00, Turkish army allied gangs attacked Deir Seman village in Der Aze and İska village in Cindires. The clashes lasted until the morning, several gang members were killed and wounded in the clashes but there is no concrete information on the number. After the attack was pushed back, the gangs retreated. 2 of our fighters were martyred and 2 others were wounded in the clashes.
The same night, gangs acting under Turkish army command attacked Basemre and Basufane villages in Şerawa with mortars and heavy weapons.
On 19.05.2017, Turkish army allied gangs attacked from Lower Jarablus to the east of the Euphrates with heavy weapons. As a result of the gangs’ attack, people of Şexler town in Kobanê suffered considerable damages to their homes and fields.
On the same day, Turkish army allied gangs opened fire on İska village in Şerawa district. Our forces immediately retaliated, but there is no concrete information on the killed and wounded gang members. Also on the same day, Turkish army allied gangs attacked Basufane and Baye villages in Şerawa district and Celeme and Derbelut villages in Cindires. When our forces retaliated, one gang member was killed in Celeme village.
At 19.00 in the evening, ISIS gangs attacked our positions 10 km to the southwest of Malha Al-Sahra village in Heseke with heavy weapons and Panzer tanks. Intense clashes broke out and several gang members were killed, but there is no concrete information. The gang’s attack was defeated with the clashes and 4 of our fighters were heroically martyred.
On 20.05.2017, Turkish army allied gangs attacked Maranez, Eyn Deqne and Vila Qadi villages in Efrîn with Howitzers. Some 60 mortar shells were shot into the villages. On the same day, a Turkish army allied gang group attacked İska Hill. When these attacks were retalliated, 3 gang members were killed, and 6 others were wounded. On the same day’s night, Turkish army UAVs and jet fighters flew over Kobanê.”
