As the invading Turkish army continues to attack the Afrin Canton, People's/Women's Defense Units YPG/YPJ fighters immediately retaliate the attacks. Fighters in the frontlines spoke to ANHA and stated that they will protect the peace in the canton.

“ATTEMPT TO VOID THE PROJECT”

One of the fighters, Diyar Efrîn said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wants to invade Northern Syria and revive the Ottoman Empire as he attempts to void the Democratic Federation project.

“IF THE TURKISH ARMY INSISTS...”

YPG fighter Şiyar Denîz said Turkey wants to spread fear among civilians through the attacks and added: “The Turkish army can’t really defeat the fighters who prevailed against gangs. If the Turkish state insists on entering Canton territory, they should know that they will meet their end on the border line. We are loyal to this idea: Victory, or martyrdom.”

“FIGHTERS MOUNTED GREAT RESISTANCE”

YPJ fighter Tolîn Demhat said the Turkish army constantly bombs the area they are in with heavy weapons: “They think they can break our resistance with their weapons. The fighters have the will and have mounted a great resistance.”

“ALL WOMEN WILL BE LIBERATED”

YPJ fighter Arîn Berfîn said they will defend the peace and security in the canton and added that the free women in Northern Syria will liberate all women.
