Berivan Kurdistan, joined the YPJ ranks in 2016 and takes part in the Rojava revolution against the policies of the invading states in the 4 parts of Kurdistan. She said that the Rojava revolution inspired her as a woman from South Kurdistan and added: "I wanted to take part in this struggle and resistance. Yes, according to some, there is an autonomy in South Kurdistan, but in the current autonomy, freedom and independence are only words. As a woman living in that land, I saw the free future of Kurdistan in the Rojava revolution that developed thanks to the philosophy of Leader Öcalan, and at the same time I joined the YPJ ranks to be a part of this free life."
Berivan Kurdistan underlined that one of the policies implemented by the Turkish invading state is to have Kurds killed by Kurds. As a YPJ fighter from South Kurdistan she drew attention to the political unity of the Kurdish Parties and said: "As you know, we are witnessing the defeat of the Turkish invading state once again these days. Turkey does not only attack the people of North Kurdistan. In this war that has been going on for years, the borders of the country did not matter at all for the Turkish state. Because the invading Turkish state believes it has the right to attack wherever there are Kurds. We are faced with a mentality [that of the Turkish state] that sees the existence of Kurds as a threat to its own existence. Which is why Turkey believes it has every right to attack the four parts of Kurdistan from Turkey to Rojava, from Bashur to Rojhilat. And it wants to use the peshmergas for their dirty games.”
YPJ fighter Berivan continued: “I also grew up in a KDP family, but there is no national value in the Kurdistan which the KDP wants to create. Therefore, my call to the peshmergas is that they should abandon this collaboration line. Because the only way to save the Kurdish people from genocide and massacres is for the guerrillas and peshmergas to stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder against the Turkish invading state in South Kurdistan. Otherwise, the parties from South Kurdistan should be well aware that the Turkish invading state will be entitled to everything as it is now, and they will lose their small and narrow autonomy right. I call on the people of South Kurdistan, women and youth: We must resist the Turkish state that wants to occupy our lands. If we do not stand by the guerrilla against this invasion attack, we will not be able to live freely on our land. All of our people must rise up against the invading Turkish state and we must drive the invaders out of our lands."
