YPJ fighter Zeynep Serêkaniyê laid to rest in Til Temir

YPJ fighter Zeynep Serêkaniyê fell a martyr in an attack by Turkish occupation forces on Til Temir.

YPJ fighter Zeynep Serêkaniyê fell a martyr as the result of a Turkish attack on Til Temir on 1 September and was buried on Friday. The Headquarters of the Women's Defense Units (YPJ) expressed its condolences to the family of the martyr and recalled that Zeynep Serêkaniyê's real name was Asya Oso and she was born in Serêkaniyê in 1993. She joined the YPJ in Til Temir in 2020.

The YPJ said: “Heval Zeynep grew up in a patriotic family and has always lived the spirit of freedom of the Rojava revolution with great integrity and enthusiasm. After the attacks by the Turkish occupying state on Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, she joined the YPJ to defend and liberate her land. She never accepted the attacks of the Turkish state on her people and continued to develop on the basis of the democratic, ecological and women-liberating paradigm, attaching great importance to the cooperative spirit."
