YPJ fighter Havîn Qamişlo, at the forefront of the Qereqozax resistance, said, “Just as we made history in Kobanê, we will write a history of resistance at Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaq Bridge and we will frustrate the enemy.”
The occupying Turkish state has been attacking Qereqozaq Bridge and Tishrin Dam with heavy weapons and drones since 8 December 2024. YPJ, SDF and Manbij Military Council fighters are confronting the invaders' aggression with relentless resistance.
YPJ fighters are at the forefront of the resistance against the invasion forces in the Qereqozaq area near Kobanê. Havîn Qamişlo, one of the YPJ fighters on the front, described their resistance as follows:
“As YPJ and SDF fighters, we respond strongly to the attacks of the occupying Turkish state. This resistance caused them to fail to approach our region and step back. Our comrades prevented the enemy from entering the Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaq Bridge. Recently, the number of Turkish-affiliated gangs has increased, but we are putting up great resistance against the attacks on Qereqozaq. No matter how eager the enemy is to occupy our land, they will not achieve their goal.
We have a promise and determination not to allow the enemy to set foot on our land. Not only the people of Rojava, but everyone should know that we are following in the footsteps of our martyred comrades, and we will never step back. Each of our martyred comrades strengthens us in our claim to victory. As fighters defending the region, we will frustrate the enemy's efforts by responding harshly.
Just as we fought against ISIS gangs in Kobanê and made history, we will write a history of resistance at Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaq Bridge and we will frustrate the enemy.”
