Children of Kobanê remember Gezi victims

Children of Kobanê did not forget the victims of Gezi resistance.

To mark the 5th anniversary of Gezi resistance in Turkey, Peoples’ Unity and Solidarity Bureau (Saziya Yekîtî û Piştgiriya Gelan) screened a video titled “Children of Gezi live in Rojava revolution”, with which the children of Kobanê remembered the Gezi resistance and victims.

The children drew the portrait of Berkin Elvan, a minor who was killed by the police and became a symbol of the Gezi resistance, on the board in their classroom.

A related statement by the Peoples’ Unity and Solidarity Bureau said the following;

“The children of revolution in Kobanê trace the memories of Gezi resistance and resistance victims. Following the massacre in Suruç of 33 ‘dream travelers’, most of whom were among the builders of Gezi resistance, children of Kobanê promised to follow their dreams and started to keep their names alive in parks, streets and avenues. They thus show that they did not forget the Gezi resistance. Rojava is a land where imagination is in power. Dream, hope and resistance is grown on these lands. They are a future joyful like revolution and bright like dreams. We will make the dreams of Gezi martyrs a reality with the children of Rojava revolution. The children of Rojava revolution will not forget the children of Gezi resistance. We will not forget! Em ji bîr nakin!”
