People of Manbij to coalition officials: “We don’t want Turkey”

The international Coalition delegation met with the people and the administration of Manbij. The people and the administration members stated that they don’t want Turkey in Manbij.

Following the meeting between Turkey’s foreign minister and the US Secretary of State and the announcement of their agreement on Manbij, the Coalition held a visit to Manbij at 09:00 today.

The International Coalition delegation made up of General James Gerard, Captain Will and former US Consul General to Saudi Arabia William Roubak took a walk through the streets of Manbij with Manbij Interior Affairs Committee Co-chair Ebd Mustefa and Public Relations Committee Co-chair Adil Ebdulselam, and spoke with the people.

“WE HAVE PEACE, AND WE DON’T WANT TURKEY”

The people of Manbij who the delegation spoke with in the city center pointed out the Turkish state’s threats of invasion, and stated that Manbij governs itself and lives in peace, and that the people don’t want Turkey there

The delegation listened to the people and afterwards visited the Manbij Civilian Administration building to hold closed meetings with the city administration.

According to sources in the meeting, the Manbij Civilian Administration members stated that they don’t want Turkey.

US OFFICIALS GIVE “GUARANTEE”

According to local sources, the meeting was held to answer questions the people and the administration of Manbij have regarding the agreement between the US and Turkey on Manbij. Sources say the US officials gave a guarantee that armed groups won’t be allowed to cross into Manbij after the people and the administration of Manbij protested.
