4th Fidan Doğan Women's Festival to be held in Paris on July 3

The 4th Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) Women's Festival will be held in Paris on July 3.

Paris is getting ready for 4th Fidan Doğan (Rojbin) Women's Festival. The festival, organized under the motto ‘It's time to defend free women and free society against femicide’, will be held in the Parc Interdepartemental area in Paris Val De Marne.

Organized by the Kurdish women’s movement in France, TJK-F, this year’s festival is dedicated to Leyla Agirî (Filiz Aslan), a member of the KJK Executive Council who was martyred in a Turkish air strike on Medya Defense Zones in June 2020. Yelda Ebbasi, Nuarin, Meral Alkan, Reqşen Gele Tamile, Kevana Zerin and Tev-Çand govend team will take part in the festival program dedicated to Leyla Agirî, and the three Kurdish women, Sakine Cansız, Leyla Şaylemez and Fidan Doğan who fell victim to a triple murder in the heart of the French capital on 9 January 2013.

The festival will also host various activities voicing women's response to the patriarchal system, the femicides in the Middle East, and the invading and colonial Turkish system. The festival includes a special playground for children and information stands on the needs of the people and Kurdish culture and the Kurdish women's struggle. It will take place on Saturday, July 3.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

The Festival Organizing Committee said, “The Kurdish women undertake the mission to make the 21st Century a century in which humanity, morality, conscience and spiritual values ​​are restored and revived, as well as freedom and equality”. The committee pointed out that the festival is also part of the struggle to enlighten the Paris killings.

The committee announced that the festival will be attended by participants from Strasbourg and cities around Paris. It called on all Kurdish people, especially women, allies and feminist movements to participate in the festival.
