26-year-old Eyüp Yel stormed the house of İzzet Tunç over a dispute in Hasankeyf district of Batman.

According to reports, Yel shot dead İzzet Tunç’s mother, 77-year-old Emine Tunç, who was at home at the time of the attack.

The assailant then took his own life with gunfire.

While gendarmerie and health teams were dispatched to the scene, the bodies were taken to Batman Training and Research Hospital’s morgue.

According to the news compiled by bianet from local and national newspapers, news websites and news agencies, men killed at least 23 women and four children in March. The deaths of at least 20 women and three children were considered as "suspicious."
