DEM Party-TJA delegation visits Kurdistan Women's Union

The delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Free Women's Movement (TJA) visited the Kurdistan Women's Union in Sulaymaniyah.

The delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Free Women's Movement (TJA) continues its talks in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The delegation, including DEM Party Şırnak MP Nevroz Uysal Aslan and Van MP Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) former MP Ayşe Acar Başaran and TJA (Free Women's Movement) members visited the Kurdistan Women's Union in Sulaymaniyah today.

Speaking about the visit, Seywan Rustem, a member of the Kurdistan Women's Union, stated that they discussed the situation of women in the four parts of Kurdistan. “We touched upon the initiatives seeking to solve the problems experienced by women. We know that the problems faced by women in the four parts of Kurdistan are the same. Therefore, we are trying to strengthen our relations and solve the problems together." 

Gülcan Kaçmaz stated that they discussed the detention conditions of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in isolation and the attacks in Southern Kurdistan. Kaçmaz added that they also exchanged ideas on relations between women.
