Exhibition provides support to women returning from Hol Camp

An exhibition in Raqqa provided support for women who recently returned from Hol Camp.

At the public market set up in Raqqa’s Mashlab neighborhood, handmade crafts and other products made by 20 women returning from Hol Camp were displayed.

Organized to economically and socially empower these women, the exhibition is the first of its kind held in a public market. It is viewed as an important step toward reintegrating these women into society.

The women exhibited handmade products, including dried spices, cleaning supplies, woven textiles, and candles, offering them for sale. This initiative aims to help women achieve economic independence and support themselves financially.

Neîma Mihemed, co-chair of the Social Service Center, told ANHA that the exhibition followed vocational training programs organized by the center, adding: "Our goal is to provide women with professional skills to help them gain economic independence." Mihemed added that holding the exhibition in a public market strengthens the connection between women returning from Hol Camp and the Raqqa community.

Eyşe El-Hemad, a 29-year-old woman participating in the exhibition, explained that she left Hol Camp with her three children in 2023 and faced severe economic hardship. She stated that after attending training programs at the Social Service Center, she learned how to produce dried spices, significantly improving her financial situation and facilitating her reintegration into society. El-Hemad said: "Thanks to this training, I managed to market my products and establish agreements with local shops in the market. This boosted my morale and made me feel more independent."

Officials said that support initiatives for women will continue, announcing plans for another exhibition next Thursday at a different public market in Raqqa to provide financial support to more women returning from Hol Camp.
