Speaking on March 8, YJA Star guerrilla Azadî Demhat stated that YJA Star is a force of revenge against violence against women and said, "We never accept unjustness, injustice, violence, murders and massacres against women."

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

On March 8, International Working Women's Day, millions of women take to the streets with the slogan “Jin Jiyan Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom). In the mountains of Kurdistan, YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas continue their resistance against the occupying, fascist enemy. YJA Star is based on the anti-patriarchal struggle, fighting for radical liberation from male domination and capitalist modernity.

Azadi Demhat, one of the YJA Star guerrillas, spoke to ANF about the resistance in the guerrilla ranks on the occasion of March 8, International Working Women's Day.

Azadî Demhat congratulated all women worldwide on March 8 and said: "We know very well the meaning and importance of March 8 for women. Patriarchal society constantly produces violence, murders and massacres of women. For this reason, every March 8, millions of women take to the streets against the patriarchal system and its governments, raise their voices and demand their rights. Both in Kurdistan and in many other countries around the world, women are waging a struggle for freedom based on the philosophy of Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. 'Jin Jiyan Azadî' [Woman, Life, Freedom] has now become a worldwide slogan, and women are fighting on the basis of this slogan. The creator of this slogan is Rêber Apo. Thanks to his efforts, our will can be seen in all areas today.”

Demhat continued: “As fighters of the YJA Star, we try to fight for the importance of March 8 with our actions. We know that our people draw strength and morale from these actions and strengthen their struggle. March 8, the International Working Women's Day, is our commitment. Our greatest aspiration is to end violence against women. We never accept unjustness, injustice, violence, murders and massacres against women. We oppose this by fighting at all levels. The YJA Star is a force of revenge against violence against women.”

Demhat continued: “As the defense force of this people, especially of women, we will try to be worthy of the sacrifices and resistance witnessed so far. Women struggling in society should trust themselves, organize themselves and participate in the struggle. Our goal is to secure the physical freedom of Rêber Apo in 2024. Our actions against the enemy will grow day by day. On this basis, I wish all women success in all areas of the struggle."
