Hawrami Women’s Platform from Southern Kurdistan (Bashur) sent a letter to DTK Co-chair who has been on a hunger strike protesting the isolation imposed upon Kurdish Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Ocalan and saluted her protest.

In their letter to Leyla Guven, who has been on a hunger strike for 126 days, the Hawrami Women’s Platform said, “We as women from Hawraman and the Hawrami Women’s Platform salute the protest and the resistance of Leyla Guven and her comrades.”

The letter continued: “We consider the resistance of hunger strikers who demand an end to the isolation imposed upon Mr. Abdullah Ocalan to be a sacred struggle. Leyla Guven’s message is an honor for our people.”

The letter stressed that the resistance that was sparked under a woman’s lead continues to grow: “This is the voice of freedom in all four parts of Kurdistan. This resistance gives women hope for freedom. So, we must fight to grow this resistance.”

The letter concluded with: “As Hawrami women and the Hawrami Women’s Platform, we share our support and solidarity from the Osalan, Shaho, Jalanu, Text, Jaweru and Lehan mountains. We will not step back until our people achieve victory in this resistance.”
