PKK and PAJK prisoners in Turkey started indefinite-alternating hunger strike on November 27 demanding that the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan be ended and he be allowed to meet his family and lawyers.

The hunger strike in Şakran Women’s Closed Prison was taken over by the second group on its 11th day, Monday.

The indefinite-alternating hunger strike in the prison, started by Cihan Asi and Hatice Calıhan, has been taken over by Behrivan Aydın and Mahsume Şedal.

According to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA), the prisoners told their families about the rights violations they have been experiencing, saying; “Our wards have been stormed and searched time after time since the hunger strike action started. The guards do not respect pandemic restrictions. We are under pressure and isolation. We will continue our struggle until the isolation on Mr. Öcalan is stopped.”
